The rescued cows and intercepted van
The Police Command in Kaduna State has said it acted swiftly on credible intelligence on September 26, and arrested an eighteen seater Bus conveying a suspected rustled cows along Barde –Keffi road.
The Command said on receiving the alert, operatives of the command attached to Kafanchan Division swung into action and succeeded in intercepting the said vehicle and arrested the following suspects; (1) Dahiru Usman M (Driver) (2) Jibrin Idris m of Toro LGA Bauchi State (3) Musa Isiya m (4) Anas Dahiru m and (5) Hussaini Damina M of Damina Village, a notorious kidnapper who have been on the Command’s wanted list and recovered thirteen (13) rustled Cows.
In a statement,PPRO, ASP Muhammed Jaligbe, said that in the course of investigation the suspects confessed to the crime while the owner of the cows was identified as one Dahiru Balam of Uddah Village and the cattle were handed over to him accordingly.
On the next day, September 27 2021 the Command also received a distress call through the Divisional Police officer Zaria City that some bandits in large numbers invaded the residence of one Muhammed Sani M of Nagoyi Quarters, Zaria and attempted to kidnap the occupant of the house.
He said; “On getting the information the team of Police men alongside members of vigilant services led by the DPO rushed to area and engaged the bandits in a gun duel. As a result one bandit was neutralized while others took to their heels with bullet wounds, abandoning their mission. The corpse has been deposited at ABU Teaching Hospital Shika, adding, “the Command is soliciting for support from the public to report any person with suspected bullet injury to the nearest Police formation for prompt action.”
