Police Declare Rivers LG Chief Security Officer, Chief of Staff Wanted for Assault, Attempted Murder

The Rivers State Police Command has declared the Chief Security Officer of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Hector Ekeakita, and the Chief of Staff to the Council Administrator, Aloni Olodi, wanted for alleged involvement in the assault and attempted murder of the council’s Sole Administrator, Goodluck Iheanachor.

In a statement on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the two officials are also being sought over allegations of criminal conspiracy, stealing, and assault occasioning harm.

According to the police, both men failed to honour invitations for questioning following the incident, which occurred on June 20, 2025, at the Ahoada East Council Secretariat.

The statement alleged that Ekeakita and Olodi led a group of about 30 individuals who violently attacked the council administrator.

The mob reportedly inflicted serious bodily injuries on Iheanachor, forced him to sign undisclosed documents under duress, and made away with his mobile phones, vital documents, and other personal and official belongings.

The Police Command described the incident as a brazen attack on a public official, stressing that such acts will not be tolerated under any guise.

“Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has declared Hector Ekeakita and Aloni Olodi wanted in connection with the violent assault and attempted murder of the Ahoada East Local Government Area Administrator,” the statement read.

The police warned that anyone found aiding or harbouring the suspects would be treated as an accomplice and face the full weight of the law.

Members of the public with useful information about the whereabouts of the suspects are urged to contact the Rivers State Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, or call 08120822987, 09014273818, or 08098880134
