The Plateau State government has granted approval for seven industrial and two residential layouts is in line with its 3- pillar policy of re-engineering the state in its five years developmental strategic program.
Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Yakubu Datti immediately embarked on visitation to the permanent sites in the approved layouts. They include Tewo-tebo (mista-ali), Rafiki, Dong, Rantya Rei and kwang layouts.
According to Tina Monday of the information unit in the ministry, Dati who was accompanied by the permanent secretary, Barr. Naanman Gamde, Directors of the ministry and members of the layout and acquisition committee, embarked on the inspect ion of the proposed permanent sites of the layouts in Jos North and South LGAs respectively.
According to him, “the Ministry is now working in line with the five years development strategy developed of the Governor Simon Bako Lalong administration and part of the Ministry’s function to achieve the mandate of private Public Partnership(PPP) in some selected layout.
Datti explained further that it is the plan of government to cater for the housing needs of the growing population and to decongest the state capital for business activities to thrive.
The commissioner cautioned the contractors handling the layouts to provide proper roads network with standard social amenities and modern equipment “because the state is trying to move away from urban slums where we have dead end roads and lack of social amenities to connect the buildings and its suburbs.”
Hon Datti also disclosed that no fewer than 238 Certificate of Occupancies and 815 Right of Occupation have so far been disbursed to the private owners by the ministry this year.
Dati presented the Cof O to all the beneficiaries with a called on investors to take advantage and key into policy of Gov Lalong administration in building confidence in leadership .
The Commissioner, Hon Datti stated this his office in Jos, saying Lalong’s régime is restoring confidence and guaranteeing access to land titles for the citizens.
He said the governor is fast tracking the ways of promoting business, following his commitment to provide layouts for Agriculture, Tourism Mining and industries.
Dati added the Ministry has keyed into the Plateau State Development plan and had embarked on reorientation and human capital development which is gradually eradicating past sharp practices, unnecessary bottlenecks, and effective and efficient land documentation through the application of technology.
He urged members of the public and organisations to ensure they’re up to date in their payments as the Ministry will soon embark on the prosecution of defaulters.
He further stated that the government has simplified land documentation technology in the PLAGIS, whereby applicants will get their documentation within 21 days. .
