The National Secretary of NUPENG, Alhaji Danladi Pasali has blamed those he called illegal marketers and political detractors of the government for the current petrol scarcity in many parts of the country.
He accused them of siphoning fuel which has led to artificial scarcity during the yuletide season and forcing price and demand to rise above 55 million caps.
Speaking to our correspondent on phone, Pasali, who is also one of the National Coordinators , Buhari Campaign Organisation, BCO, emphasised that the indiscriminate increase on fuel price was as a result of the high demand during the festive season.
According to him the rate of consumption in Nigeria used to be between 30 to 33 millions cap but during the festive period it shut up to 55 millions cap .
Pasali assured that President Muhammadu Buhari is read to tackle the hike in price of premium motor spirit in a few weeks .
According to him, the short supply in PMS and the rise in demand was the handiwork of political distractors who want to play politics with the hike in pump price of premium motor spirit to punish the citizens.
