PDP Alleges Fraud in Qua’an Pan South, House of Assembly Poll

The Plateau State Election Tribunal sitting in Jos on Wednesday heard a case of alleged fraud irregularities, alterations, over voting and non- compliance to the electoral act led to the declaration of an APC candidate, Abubakar Mohammed as winner in the House of Assembly poll over his PDP rival, Dogo Zainab on March 10.

The result sheet in the INEC forms EC8C (1) and EC8E (1) showed that the APC candidate scored 17,738 ,while the PDP scored 14,944.

Hajiya Zainab Dogo in her petition averred that the said election conducted into the membership of the House of Assembly for the Qua’an Pan South State Constituency, Plateau State held on the 9th March, 2019, did not comply with the Electoral Act, 2010 (as Amended) and/or that the said election was ridden with wide spread cases of over voting.

“The Petitioners hereby plead all the INEC Forms ECBC (I) and EC8E(I) as well as their duplicate copies shall relied on same during the hearing of the case.

“The 1st Petitioner has the right to present this petition on the ground that she had the right to be returned or declared duly elected having scored the majority of lawful votes cast at the said election.

“The 2nd Petitioner, PDP, equally states that having sponsored the 1St Petitioner is entitled to have its candidate duly returned as the elected member of the House of Assembly for the Qua’an Pan South State Constituency, Plateau State on the basis of scoring the majority of lawful votes cast at the said election.

She averred that arrears where ballots were used in excess of votes cast as well as no entries for spoilt ballots were:

 

1. Kwari II, 022 where 53 ballots were unaccounted for in Namu RA

 

1. Ung. Yashi Namu I, 001 where 4 ballots were unaccounted for under Namu RA 11;

 

iii. Ung. Yashi Namu II, 002 where 8 ballots were unaccounted for under Namu RA 11;

 

1. Dam Road (Kofar Danbaba) 005, where 23 ballots were unaccounted for under Namu RA 11;

 

1. Kofar Ubandoma 009, where 40 ballots were unaccounted for under Namu RA 11;

 

1. Tshon Kwata 010, where 285 ballots unaccounted for under Namu RA 11;

 

vii. Kwari I, 021 where 6 ballots were unaccounted for under Namu RA 11 ;

 

viii. Ung. Haliku 030, where 134 ballots unaccounted for under Namu RA 11;

 

1. Ntoeroem 041, where 149 ballots were unaccounted for under Namu RA 11;

 

1. Ang. Dorowa I, 014 where 52 ballots were unaccounted for under Kurgwi RA 05;

 

1. Dorowa Kudu I, 015 where 11 ballots were unaccounted for under Kurgwi RA 05;

 

xii. RCM PR1 Sch Kwalla Town I, 004, where 03 ballots were unaccounted for under Kwalla Moeda 07; xiii. RCM PRI Sch Kwalla Town II, 005 where 201 ballots unaccounted for, under Kwalla Moeda 07; xw. Kopdu/parina A 015, where 123 ballots were un accounted for under Kwalla Moeda 07; Your petitioners hereby plead INEC FORM EC8A(I) for all the polling units listed above and the 1““ Respondent is put on Notice To Produce the original or the certified true copy during the trial. 21.

She maintained that the1st Respondent, INEC, ought to have cancelled areas ridden or affected by cases of over voting and declare and return her as winner.
