The State Government of Osun has confirmed information that it donated Opon Imo ‘Tablets of Knowledge’ to rescued Chibok School girls towards their rehabilitation.
In an enquiry from the office of the governor over the weekend, Thisage, was told that the Opon Imo tablet was sent by the governor of the state of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola to the Vice- President’s office for onward delivery to the rescued Chibok school girls earlier last week.
“The tablets of Knowledge were then handed over to the rescued girls on Thursday April 6, 2017 to help in their rehabilitation”, said the source.
“Recall the state government had in 2013 launched revolutionary tablets of knowledge for senior secondary school students in Osun.
“The program has in the past four years placed a computer electronic device in the hands all student, some of which are from poor background and in rural environment where access to such devices would not have been possible.
“Performance of students writing the WASSCE examinations has since improved year on year, culminating in a 46% pass rate in five subjects including Mathematics and English in 2016.”
