Zozibini
Super talk show host, actress and television producer, and philanthropist has invited to her girl’s academy, Zozibini Tunzi, the first South African and second black woman, after Angola Leila Lopes, to be the crowned Miss Universe. She won at yesterday’s finale.
Zozibini, after emerging victorious over than 90 women from across the world who took part in the pageant, which was held in Atlanta in the US on Sunday, posted a message on her Instagram wall, which, Winfrey responded to.
According to the 26- year old Zozibini who beat Puerto Rico’s Madison Anderson and Mexico’s Sofia Aragon in the final three to take the crown; “ Today a door has opened and I could not be more grateful to have been the one to have walked through it. May every little girl who witnessed this moment forever believe in the power f her dreams and may they see their faces reflected in mine. I proudly state my name Zozibini Tunzi, Miss Universe 2019.”
Reacting to the news that has been trending on social media; Oprah Winfrey ✔@Oprah Congratulations Miss South Africa, the new Miss Universe @zozitunzi! Angolan former winner said in her Instagram wall: “Congrats girl you did us very proud.”
Talking further of her victory, Zozibini, said: “I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me, with my kind of skin and my kind of hair, was never considered to be beautiful. “I think that it is time that that stops today.”
Many other women, including Ms Olutosin Araromi who represented Nigeria at the contest have eulogized Zozibini for her courage, skin and hair.
