Operation Safe Haven Arrest 17 Suspected Kidnappers In Bauchi, Plateau, Kaduna.

23 suspected criminals have been arrested for  various offences by Operation Safe Haven in Plateau, Southern Kaduna and Bauchi States has apprehended .
Parading the suspects at the headquarters of the command on Thursday,  Major General Dominic Onyemulu, Commander of the special task force said 17 of the suspects were arrested for kidnapping,  while six others were arrested for armed robbery and possession of illegal firearms.
Onyemulu, said there was need to update the general public on the operation of OSHP activities within the last few days since my assumption of the command. “On the 24th February, 2021, own troops in conjunction with personnel of NDLEA on routine patrol along Lafia-Shendam road, in Shendam LGA of plateau state intercepted a passer by Wisdom Amos during a search, on suspect let to recovery of a Harrisburg pistol with registration numbering 18880 loaded with seven rounds 9mm ammunition.
He explained that troops of the operation on the 16th march, 2021, responded to a distressed call over an attempted kidnap of one Alhaji Gambo Yawuro residence of Lishin village, Jingre Pengana chiefdom in Bassa LGA of the state, where in collaboration with vigilante members and locals fault the attempt kidnapping and arrested 17 of them.
He said items recovered include, seven motorcycles, a fabricated rifle, two live cartridges, 13 cutlasses, three daggers, 15 cell phones and assorted charms.
He said the troops also arrested four members robbery syndicate during an operation along Haske-Lamingo road where they robbed a lady and threw her out of a moving tricycle. Also one Mohammed Mustapha was arrested with a fabricated rifle in the hide out in the state.
Major Gen. Onyemulu, however, reassured members of the general public of its determination and commitment towards the protection of lives and properties of all law abiding citizens across the joint operational area of the three States.
