Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi state has charged judicial officers to live above board in the dispensation of justice to all and sundry.
Ododo who also tasked judicial officers to discharge their constitutional duty without fear or favour, declared that the call has become necessary inview of government’s huge investment in the judicial system.
The Governor said that the presentation of eight (8) additional vehicles to Judicial Officers in Kogi state is aimed at enhancing their smooth operation for the needed service delivery.
The Head of Service of Kogi State, Mr Elijah Evinemi on Wednesday, presented the car keys on behalf of the Governor to the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Josiah Majebi.
He restated the commitment of Governor Ododo’s administration to prioritize the welfare of Judicial Officers and enhance Judicial services to the people of the state.
He recalled that the Governor had earlier presented twenty-five (25) vehicles to the state’s Judicial Officers; now, eight (8) additional ones have been given.
He urged the Judiciary to reciprocate the gesture by discharging justice to all and sundry seeking their services in the courtroom, inspiring them to uphold the principles of fairness and equality.
Responding, the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Josiah Majebi, thanked the Governor for fulfilling his promise to them, noting that the vehicles’ services would go a long way in aiding them to perform their official duties as it concerns the well-being of the people of Kogi State.
Justice Majebi described Governor Ododo as a man of his word, viewing his administration as being characterized by fairness and justice.
It is worth noting that the issuance of thirty-three (33) vehicles to the Kogi state judiciary is a testament to Governor Ododo’s commitment to his promises, as he had pledged this during the swearing-in of the appointed Judges.
