Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has called on communities and vulnerable groups to always support the policies and programmes of his administration geared towards tackling the current economic challenges faced by citizens.
The governor made the call at the flag off ceremony for the implementation of micro community and group micro projects held in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency on Wednesday.
The governor represented by Hon. Asiwaju Asiru Idris, the Chairman of the State Cares Steering Committee and Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, assured rural communities in Kogi state of the commitment of his administration in the development of both urban and rural areas.
The General Manager of Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency, Chief Dauda Momoh, in his welcome address, said that the Basic Services implementation unit in the NG-CARES Programmes is a pride the Governor is relying on to achieve rapid development, particularly in rural communities.
He disclosed that over 18,000 people are to benefit from the two (2) and one (1) group whose projects are being flag off, namely, Clinic renovation, Well Construction and Science Laboratory for Aseni Community; Clinic Renovation and Motorised Borehole and Clinic Upgrade and Water Reticulation for Ihigeba Onro Bihu in Tuturu community in Girinya area of Kogi State.
According to the General Manager, the projects are part of the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES programme) targeted at improving the living Standard of rural dwellers.
