The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has found an officer of the Commission behind a trending video showing the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano in the while still in custody of the Commission.
The governor who was nabbed by officials of the Commission last Thursday, March18 ,2022, on tip off by the Nigeria Immigration Service officers at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on his way to the United States of America, hours after he handed power over to Governor Charles Soludo, was granted bail on Monday. He is yet to perfect the bail conditions as at the time of going to press.
According to Mr Wilson Uwujaren, Head of Media and Publicity, “the Commission wishes to distance itself from the said video which is completely at variance with the established Standard Operating Procedure of the EFCC.
He said that” a discreet investigation ordered upon discovery of the leak has revealed the errant officer behind the odious act and he is currently being subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.”
In the said video, Governor is seen in shots reclining on a chair while sipping from a bottle of water.
