Obajana Monarch Expresses Worry Over Youth Restiveness

The Bajana 111 of Obajana Kingdom in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi state, Oba (DR.) Idowu Isenibi has expressed concern over the alarming rate of youth restiveness across the country with a call on government at all levels to explore means of tackling the menace.

The monarch who attributed the ugly development to severe  unemployment situation facing the nation, however, admonished youths in Nigeria to embrace skill acquisition option that could  earn them  self-reliant devoid of negative acts.

Oba Isenibi also called on willing investors to come and assist in tapping the abundant natural resources in Kogi state through meaningful investments which he assured would provide solutions to the problem of unemployment as well as youth restiveness that had bedevilled the  state and Nigeria in general.

The Paramount ruler made the call at an award ceremony held in his honour  by the Kogi Built Environment and Building Materials(BEBM) Exhibition, a Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO)  in recognition of  his impacts in Community Development efforts both at state level and his domain.

He commended the authorities of the Dangote Cement Company located at Obajana for living up to expectation in the provision of basic infrastructure to the host community promising that Obajana people would not relent in ensuring conducive environment for the largest Cement company to thrive in its production.

The royal father thanked the organisation for the honour bestowed on him with an assurance that it will spur him to do more for his people in the years ahead.

” I will continue to do my best in making live more comfortable for my people. I will also not relent in giving support to NGOs ready to partner with the community in its developmental strive. The community will equally continue to support BEBM in its developmental programs ” the Oba affirmed.

Earlier, the Executive Director of the Building Outfit, Engineer Oladipo Kayode had said that the gesture was also in appreciation of the Oba’s role in the promotion of peace and preservation of his people’s rich culture and tradition.

Kayode also said that the Oba was singled out for the honour for his outstanding contribution in ensuing clean and healthy environment of his immediate community as well as encouragement of development partners that would help the area to move to the next level of growth.
