The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ,NUJ, Kogi state Council, Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh has charged members of the Credential Committee for the Council election to exhibit highest sense of patriotism and commitment to the Union’s constitution to conduct free , fair and credible election that will be devoid of rancour and partisanship.

The Chairman gave the charge Wednesday in Lokoja, when he inaugurated the Credential Committee , saddle with the conduct of the forthcoming Kogi Council Elections.
He advised the committee to work closely with the Council in the execution of their mandate, saying the committee should not consider itself as an alternative to the executive council of the Union.
He called for equity, fairness to all contestants as they should be guided by the spirit and letters of the NUJ constitution in their day to day activities.
He reminded the committee members that they were chosen , because of their tract records in previous assignments advised them not to betray the confidence repose in them.
Adeiza assured the committee members which include the Chairman, Ebenezer Adurodijah, Olusegun Oyenibi and Grace Kato to give them needed moral, material and financial support in the discharge of their assignment.
Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Ebenezer Adurodijah said his choice to serve was a great honour for him and his members.
He promise to be neutral in the discharge of the assignment, vowing to apply strictly the constitution in the process and conduct of the election.
According to him , ” All the Chapels of the Union would be consulted in other to have free, fair and credible election, What we need to succeed in the duty is your cooperation and credible advice from the stakeholders” he urged.
In his contribution, the two time Chairman of the Union and a National Trustee of NUJ, Comrade Alih Atabor said, he is proud of the achievement of his successor , Momohjimoh Adeiza who he added has been able to raise the bar of the management of the Council.
He added that, he was confident in the ability of the committee members who are men of proven records in union matters to conduct the most acceptable election in recent times.
While encouraging members of the union to present themselves to contest for various positions said his comment on the performance of the incumbent chairman should not be misconstrued to mean outright endorsement.
In his vote of thanks, the Secretary of the Council , comrade Ademu Seidu challenge the committee to live above board in the discharge of the all important assignment.
