Despite regulatory allegation confronting Oando Plc, trading on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday closed on a positive note, as key market indicators went up as witnessed last week.
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.12 percent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at 23.91 percent.
The All Share Index closed at 33,301.43 against the previous close of 33,261.66 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.477 trillion against previous close of ₦11.464 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 3.60 percent from 311.609 million to 322.814 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 16.40 percent from ₦3.271 billion to ₦2.734 billion in 3,830 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 279.979 million shares exchanged for ₦1.19 billion. Consumer Goods came next with 21.259 million shares traded for ₦0.826 billion, Conglomerates, Agriculture, Oil And Gas sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Niger Insurance Plc, FBN Holding Plc, FCMB Holding Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc, and Flourmill Nigeria Plc were the most active stocks by volume. Unilever Nigeria Plc, Forte Oil Plc, 7Up Bottling Company Plc, Champion Breweries Plc and Flourmill Nigeria Plc emerged the highest price gainers, while Oando Plc, National Salt Company Of Nigeria Plc, Aiico Insurance Plc, Skye Bank Plc and May & Banker topped the losers’ chart.
A total of 100 companies shares were traded with 23 gainers and 26 losers, while 51 shares price remained unchanged.
