Transaction on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) sustained its gradual increase as shown in today’s activities.
At the close of business on Wednesday, the All Share Index (NSE ASI) and the Market Capitalization increased by 0.23 percent, while the Year-to-Date return stood at 24.71 percent.
The All Share Index closed at 33,514.93 against the previous close of 33,436.61 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦11.551 trillion against previous close of ₦11.524 trillion. Volume traded decreased by 86.21 percent from 2403.647 million to 331.431 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 84.99 percent from ₦21.613 billion to ₦3.245 billion in 4,055 deals.
The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 273.584 million shares exchanged for ₦1.995 billion. Conglomerates came next with 20.653 million shares traded for ₦0.031 billion, Consumer Goods, Oil And Gas, Services sectors followed in that order on the activity chart.
Zenith Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc, FBN Holding Plc, Custodian & Allied Insurance Plc and Nem Insurance Plc were the most active stocks by volume.
Transcorp, PZ Cusson Plc, Skye Bank Plc, Oando Plc and Guinness Nigeria Plc emerged the highest price gainers, while Presco Plc, MRS Oil Plc, Jaiz Bank Plc, Livestock Feeds Plc and AXA Mansard Insurance Plc topped the loser’s table. A total of 101 companies stocks were traded with 24 gainers and 24 losers, while 53 stock prices remained unchanged.
