The Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, has ordered a speedy and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack on the men of Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) by officers of the Corps.
The incident occurred at Kugbo slope area of Abuja on Tuesday.
While ordering the investigation, the CG announced the temporary suspension of the officers involved in the incident, seized their vehicle and detained the driver while he gave the assurance that everything humanly possible will be done to ensure that justice prevails in the case.
Mr Gana’s remark is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Media Aide, Ekunola Gbenga.
The Commandant General apologised to management and men of VIO and assured them of the Corps maximum cooperation and support in the discharge of their constitutional duties.
