The Northern Christian Association (NCA) Chairman, Reverend, Dr Joseph Hayab has commended the Founder of the World Assembly Ministries, Reverend Isaac Omolehin for providing funds which was channeled towards the erection of tents and toilets for nine (9) Heads of Households/Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who were evicted at the Shuwari camp, Maiduguri, Borno state.
The camp which hosted mostly Christians from Gwoza local government area for many years is owned by the Church of Brethern in Nigeria, popularly known in Hausa as Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (E.Y.N).
Due some challenges that erupted recently, the displaced heads of household who were camped in some of the residential buildings had to vacate, despite the rainy period.
Succor came when Reverend Hayab notified the Founder of the World Assembly Ministries, Reverend Omolehin who promptly responded by immediately releasing funds to resetle the displaced IDPs and their families.
Recalled that similar gesture such as the repairs of broken down boreholes at the Jerusalem IDPs’ camp in Maiduguri were carried out by Omolehin through the NCA Chairman, in which, potable drinking water were restored in the camp early this year.
According to Reverend Hayab in an interview said, “this intervention came from the support his Association got from Rev Isaac Omolehin the founder of the Word Assembly Ministries in Ilorin, Kwara State Nigeria”.
He commended the E.Y.N Church for not only providing thousands of IDPs and their families with space for the past 10 years, but also allocated some houses temporary within Shuwari for some heads of Households.
” I really appreciated and commend Rev Omolehin for his support which has brought relief to displaced IDPs and their children who were asked to vacate the temporary houses/accommodation provided to them by E.Y.N Church in this camp”. Hayab stated.
He also appealed to other faithfuls, churches and spirited individuals to emulate this godly attitude of mourning with those who mourn as shown by the scriptures.
Hayab noted that “in situation like this, a careful giver should not wait or think to donate millions, but a little donations would go along way in touching lives of the vulnerable groups in the society”.
Rev Hayab promised that the association, under his leaderahip will not relent in her efforts to make brothers and sisters in IDPs across the region and beyond smile at all times.
Also in his speech during the allocation and handing -over brief ceremony, the Secretary- General of Northern Christian Association (NCA), Founder/Overseer of Pentecostal Believers Covenant Church (PBCC) in Nigeria, Bishop Mohammed Naga appreciated Rev. Omolehin for always addressing the plight of vulnerable groups in the society.
His words: ” I saw Christ like heart of love in Rev. Isaac Omolehin towards Northerners.
“We also thank Rev. Hayab for his commitment, dedication and accountability in helping Northern Christians at all times”. Bishop Naga said.
Some of the IDPs who expressed their profound gratitude said, this intervention addresses one of the community’s most pressing needs, ensuring that the displaced families were immediately provided with another accommodation/tents at this rainy season.
“The prompt erection of tents and toilets by Omolehin through NCA leadership to the displaced families at this critical period of the rainy season is a welcome development aims to lives in this camp”. Said one of the IDPs, Mr. Barka Moses.
