Nigerian Legion Disowns Purported Conference For Empowerment.

The Nigerian Legion has alerted the public about a purported Special Invitation for the empowerment of widows, orphans and ex-Servicemen slated for 6th May 2021 at the Resource Centre Abuja.

A statement by the Chairman, Brigadier General Adakole Jones Akpa, rtd, said in Abuja that this event is unknown to Headquarters Nigerian Legion and does not have the authorisation or blessing of the National Chairman and Headquarters Nigerian Legion.

The statement called on well meaning Nigerians and friends of the Legion to ignore the invitation as it was unauthorised.

According to the statement, Brigadier General Jones Akpa was capped as a distinguished guests for the occasion in order to give it a credibility coloration.

The Nigerian Legion says for instance, how could you empower ex-Servicemen in the Nigerian Legion without the knowledge of the National Chairman.?

This disclaimer is necessary to avoid luring unsuspecting general public into negative philanthropy.
