As the New Year beacons, the Oyo State Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Dr. Oludare Adesina, has urged Nigerians and officers of the command to be upbeat and optimistic, saying 2018 promises to be prosperous, progressive and productive.
In a statement signed by Dr. Adesina and made available to journalists by the command’s Media Team in Ibadan, the state capital, over the weekend, the commandant maintained that the new year would be filled with fresher and greater opportunities.
The PCN Chief who urged the officers and men of command not to despair said 2018 would usher in a new dawn in the Corps with joyous tidings that would put a new song in their mouths, assuring that, “the much-awaited presidential assent on the Nigerian Peace Corps bill will very soon be got”.
While urging residents of the state to live in peace as the organisation’s name state, the Commandant said, ” 2018 will be better, greater and brighter”.
Charging the residents to celebrate with caution and be security-conscious, Adesina encouraged the citizen to be law-abiding.
While lauding the National Commandant, Amb.(Dr.) Dickson A. O. Akoh, for his efforts in taking the Corps to a greater height,Adesina reiterated his unalloyed and undying commitment to the service of his fatherland.
