The national grid system, operated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, suffered a partial collapse on Saturday, marking the first grid disturbance in 2025 and the 13th since 2024.

According to data obtained from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal (niggrid.org), the grid failure occurred at about 1.56 p.m.

Data from the National Control Centre revealed that a part of the grid was not affected by the bulk power disruption.

It also indicated that engineers from the Transmission Company of Nigeria are already working to quickly restore bulk power supply to the states affected by the partial disturbance.
