Marley and his fans during the show
The Federal Government has suspended indefinitely the airline and pilot that flew Lagos musician, Azeez Fashola, alias, Naira Marley to Abuja where he staged a show at the weekend in clear violation of Presidential Task Force ban on public gathering of not more than 20 persons during Covid-19 pandemic.
The Federal Capital Territory FCT Ministerial Enforcement Task force team on COVID -19 Restrictions had sealed up the Jabi Lake Mall for violating the directives on the ban on public gatherings. The action followed the judgment of a Mobile Court sitting in Jabi and presided over by Magistrate Idayat Akonni
The Magistrate said the ban would be for two weeks. The show took place between 10pm and 4 am.
The operators of the airline, Executive Jet Services was given clearance to fly an Appeal Court Judge to Abuja and back to Lagos, according to the Ministry of Aviation, Sirika Hadi. How Marley got to Abuja appears to have been the result of gaming the system on the part of the pilot.
