The Nigerian Air Force says its air component of Operation Hadin Kai has destroyed a major terrorist training camp in Bukar Meram, located on the southern edge of the Lake Chad region in Borno State.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, said the airstrikes were carried out on Monday following credible intelligence that the terrorists were planning coordinated attacks on Marte and Monguno communities.
The operation, he said, led to the neutralisation of several insurgents and the destruction of key logistics infrastructure, including supply vehicles, weapons depots, and makeshift shelters.
The statement read, “Battle Damage Assessment confirmed that the strike effectively disrupted imminent threats posed to the communities of Marte and Monguno.
“It reinforces NAF’s proactive posture in safeguarding civilian populations and critical national territories.”
Gabkwet added that the NAF remains resolute in its mission to defend Nigeria’s sovereignty and support efforts to restore lasting peace in the North-East and other troubled regions.
