The former Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council of Plateau State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon Abbas Adamu Wakdung has been advised to withdraw his membership from the Social Democratic Party, SDP, as the provision of the Electoral act 2022 forbids him from holding multiple political party membership.

The SDP secretary ,Hon Alpha N.K made this disclosure during an interview with journalists at the party’s headquarters in Jos on Tuesday.

He begged Hon Abbas Adamu Wakdung to go back to his Gumshar ward and retrieve the membership officially for the interests of his political ambition.

Alfa explained that Hon Abbas Wakdung had indicated his interest to contest on the platform of the SDP but reneged on his agreement reached with officials of the party at the eve of the party primary held on July 14, 2022.

According to him, “Abbas called the party to shift the date of the primary but only for us to hear that he has moved to Labour Party,as the flag bearer leaving the party officials to try and fill the vacancy created by his sudden, unannounced exit.

The only option open to the former LGA boss is a part of honour, according to Alpha. He called on “Wakdung to submit a letter of withdrawals from the SDP through the party state secretary now.”

Attempts to reach Wakdung failed as he was unavailable for reactions despite repeated visit to his office.
