The statistics from the plotted recall of the senator representing Kogi west senatorial district, Dino Melaye, showed that the exercise failed as it could not meet up with the required 50 plus one percent of the total number of signatories to the petition.
It only managed to get 5.34 percent of signatures verified by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
A breakdown of the results showed that Kogi west has a total of 351, 146 voters out of which 189, 870 were said to have signed the petition to recall the senator.
However, only 20, 868 constituents came out for the verification but only 18, 742, representing just 5.34 percent of the signatories, voted in support of Melaye’s recall.
