A10-storey Mandilas building, located on Broad Street, in Lagos Island Local Government Area of Lagos State, was on Sunday gutted by fire, destroying items and properties worth millions of naira.
The Director, Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, who confirmed the incident, said officers of the fire service from Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu stations were swiftly deployed to the scene, who, along with responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the Police, put out the raging fire.
While the cause of the fire incident is yet to be unknown, Adeseye said it started on the first floor and spread up to the fourth floor.
However, Adeseye said no casualty was recorded.
