James read the game well in the 37th min when there was some confusion whether there should be a free kick after Victor Lindelof brought down Divock Origi. He ran down the line and delivered a brilliant cross to Marcus Rashford who wasted no time in putting the ball in the net.
But with time the Red Devils succumbed to fire power of the visitor’s and finally conceded the equaliser through an unmarked Adam Lallana who converted Andy Robertson’s cross into the box for the 86th min goal. Ashley Young and Marcus Rojo were caught napping!
Man U had fallen back in the second half, making it hard for Liverpool to break through their formidable 5-3-2 formation. But Liverpool proved dangerous with their possession in the end.
It also serves Jurgen Klopp right. He had boosted that his team would beat Man U silly. They drew no doubt but Manchester United has stopped Liverpool’s 17- winning streak as they dropped points for the first time this season. It also means Liverpool fell one game short of equalling the Premier League record of 18 consecutive wins set by Manchester City.
