In spite of mesmerizing football they played at Anfield, Liverpool had two goal to show for it. It should have been more, if the forward had coordinated properly.  Sadio Mane with a Milner assist sped away from defenders Evans and Soyuncu before firing low under goalie Schmeichel into the right corner of the net, few minutes to half time. In the dying minutes of the game, hard fighting Leicester took the game to the Reds and were able to pull one back in the 80^th min through a James Robertson goal. But unrelenting Liverpool got their game back and pressured the former defending champion to conceded a penalty and Milner put it in the net. This is the seventh time both teams have met and it has always been Liverpool all the way.

 

Norwich vs Aston Villa, 1-5

When two promoted teams from the Championship meet, the story can be interesting as Villa showed today in their routing of Norwich. Right from the first half through the second, they scored and scored, but interestingly, the home fans kept cheering their team hoping for a consolation. It never came as Villa was unrelenting from the 13^th , 30^th , 49^th 61^st and 83^rd. But in the 87^th min, the home fans got their hearts desire. Norwich pulled one back.

 

Brighton vs Tottenham Hotspurs, 3-0

With two first half goals and a late second half goal, from Maupay in the 3^rd min   Connolly in the 32^nd and 65^th min, Brighton trashed visiting Tottenham Hotspurs, which fielded all their players. Though Lloris mistake caused the first goal when he allowed the ball to drop from his grasp with Maupay lurking on the line, the other goal where conceded on a counter by Brighton. Coming from a 7-2 spanking by Bayern in the Champions league, the lose to Brighton was one woe too many.

Burnley vs Everton, 1-0

Bayern Munich vs Hoffenheim, 1-2

Unbelievable but it happened. The visitors handed the defending champions their first and perhaps worse home defeat with a 54^th and 79^th min goals, six minutes after talismanic Lewandowski pulled one back in the 73^rd min.

Freiburg vs Dortmund, 2-2

 

R/ Madrid vs Granada, 4-2

Predictable Benzema scored the opening goal just 3 mins into the game with a Bale assist and winger Hazard who had been struggling since his arrival from Chelsea, had his first at added time in the first half. Ballon D’or winner Modric made it three   in the 67^th min. But just at the 69^th min, Granada pulled one back through a penalty by Machis. Rodriguez made it four in the 90+2 min and in the 77^th min, Domingos Duarte scored the second for the visitors
