The Labour Party , LP, on Friday disclosed that the it has began the sale of Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to party members aspiring to contest the for the 17 Local Government Areas election for Chairmanship and Councillorship seats.
The forms, according to the Labour Party ( LP) Chairperson Mrs Grace Zamfara , cost N200,000.00 for the Chairmanship seat and N150,000.00 for the Councillorship, respectively.
However, aspirants living with disabilities and female aspirants are to pay for the Expression of Interest Form, while the Nomination Form is free for them.
Some of the aspirants are roaring to go.
The Councillorship aspirant of Jenta Apata ,Mr Kingsley Nwachukwu said their communities are facing numerous challenges and so need the presence of government, especially at the entire ward level.
He stated that looking at the economic situation in the country, the people of Jenta Apata ward are yearning for better service delivery rather than the recent intervention in tarring of the main road network the people have been neglected for quite sometime.
“We need a voice that will tell the government that we have something that need to be done around Buji to Laranto under Apata ward. The people are suffering from water scarcity even though the water tanks are full with water and no one else can access it.
The state coordinator of Presidential Committee of Labour Party, Peter Obi, Mr Eugene Ofoegbu, expressed the desire to support the candidacy of Kingsley Nwachukwu as the people’s choice for better tomorrow.
He said Jenta Apata ward need a pragmatic leader in person of Kingsley Nwachukwu.
Eugene admonished the people of the ward to come out enmass and participate in the forthcoming LGs elections in Plateau State and vote wisely for candidate of credibility and good character.
The elder statesman promised to play politics of inclusiveness, change the politics of bitterness and promote peaceful coexistence and togetherness in the ward.
He said the LP believes in the security and unity of oneness amongst the diverse ethnic groups in the state .
The Chairman of Labour Party in Jos North Local Government Council, Hon .Bala Ramadan express gratitude to the people for the performance of the party in the last election of the rerun in Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency on which it’s candidate emerged victorious at tribunal.
According to him, about three candidates of Igbo extraction are contesting for Councillorship seats in Jos North LGA, so LP is national party that accommodate all the tribes in Jos North.
Bala urges the electorate to wisely vote for credible persons in the forthcoming LGs and shun money bag that are only after theirs and family interests.
He said as the party’s campaign for all LP candidates should carefully consider perseverance and commitment to deploy the party manifestos in canvassing vote for themselves.
