Ahead of December 12 Local Government Council Elections in Kogi state, the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) has directed political parties that would participate in the elections to submit their campaign roadmaps to the commission with immediate effect.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by the commissioner in charge of Media and Publicity of the commission, Alhaji Musa Chogudo which was made available to journalists in Lokoja on Sunday.
The commissioner said the submission of political parties campaign roadmaps for the elections would enable the commission to prepare a dossier that would guarantee a hitch free campaigns devoid of clashes at all locations in the state.
The statement indicated that campaign for the elections starts on the 4th of November and ends on the 10th of December, 2020.
According to the statement, political parties are to submit their campaign roadmaps to the State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) immediately.
It stated that template for each political party roadmap should consist of the dates and schedules of movements to various locations in the state e.g. local government, wards, polling units, senatorial districts and ultimately, the venue for the grand finale.
The statement also said that Party officials are encouraged to make their submissions in accordance with laid down rules and regulations guiding the conduct of council elections.
