From Joseph Amedu, Lokoja

The Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Council has debunked the rumour making the round that its DG, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu was distributing recharge cards that will automatically deactivate the voter’s cards of the beneficiaries.
The Council described the rumour as a reckless falsehood meant to damage the personality and image of its Director General, Shaibu Abubakar Audu.
The Director, Media and Publicity of Ododo/Oyibo Campaign Council, Kingsley fanwo, in a statement made available to Journalists in Lokoja, Tuesday, noted that the allegations were ludicrous and mentally indolent , but it is pertinent to set the record straight to save the unsuspecting public from the unbridled propaganda of the opposition.
The statement reads; “Their intent is to create panic, spread falsehood and make it look like Kogi is at war.
“They know they can’t win any election here because the people of Kogi State know the leaders they trust. Our Director General, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has a reputation of transparency and respect for the rule of law. He possesses a capacity to be trusted and followed by the people.
“He does not need to contemplate any foul means of winning election when his pedigree, antecedents, track record and family background place him on a comfortable pedestal to ensure his people remain with the party that has served them so well and that will do better and more for the people at all levels.
“It is on this note we call on the people to disregard the figment of the imagination of the scripters of the fiction. Our party will win a free, fair and credible election come November 11.”
