The wife of Kogi State Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello has extended her free medical care to people living with disabilities in the state through the distribution of Artificial limbs, Polio Callipers and Cosmetics Legs to them to adequately Carter for their health needs just like their able bodied counterparts in the state.
The programme which is in collaboration with ISHK Tolaram Foundation(ITF) is part of the her efforts to ensure that all citizens have access to good health irrespective of status and challenges.
Flagging off the programme at the Government House, Lokoja on Wednesday, the Founder, Rashida Bello Foundation, Mrs Rashida Bello who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Mrs Folashade Arike, said that the programme was put in place to support the State Government towards providing the dividends of good governance in the area of health, education, Women and youths empowerment.
She thanked ISHK Tolaram Foundation for their support, saying that the programme would benefit the people and create more opportunities for the socioeconomic transformation of the citizens of the state.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner of Health, Dr Saka Haruna thanked the Wife of the State Governor for coming to the aids of these group of people, adding that investment being made in their lives would go along way in making them useful to themselves, their families and the society.
