… Arrest Killer Of Nicholas Ofodile, Owner Of Chucks Supermarket in Lokoja

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba has confirmed the killing of fourteen persons at Agudu community in Kogi local government area by unknown gunmen at the early hours attack on Wednesday.
Briefly journalists on the development, the commissioner said that thirteen out of the fourteen deceased persons were from the same family home.
Ayuba also told Newsmen that the other persons who were badly injured were rushed to the hospital where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
Speaking with Our Correspondent, the Senior Special Assistant on Security, Kogi LGA, Isah Abdulkareem also confirmed the attack, saying that the situation in the area has however been brought to normalcy.
He said he got a call from Bassa Youth forum at about 2:30am about the attack and was able to mobilize the securty agencies who brought the situation to normalcy.
He described the attack as unfortunate and urged the people of the area to strive to live in peace and harmony, assuring that the securty agencies would certainly unravel the cause of the attack and those behind it.
The SSA disclosed that he was still unable to point out the pepatrators, whether they were herdsmen, bandits, but said the only thing he noticed was that only a particular family in the community, except for one man who ran into the scene, were killed in the incident.
He said both himself and the Commissioner of Police have visited the community, making more deployment of Securty men to forestall breakdown of law and order.
Meanwhile, Police has said that contrary to wide speculations and believe that Nicholas Ofidile, owner of popular Chucks Supermarket in Lokoja was killed by Kidnappers, the Police said following investigations, one culprits, Vincent Omogor, has been arrested in connection with his assassination.
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba disclosed this while parading Twenty Eight Suspected criminal elements, saying that one of the perpetrators that assassinated Nicholas Ofodile have been arrested.
He said the breakthrough was made following intelligence driven embarked upon by SARS, working in synergy with vigilantee group in Orehi arrested Vincent Omogor, an indigene of Asaba, Delta State.
According to the CP Ede, the suspect confessed to the crime of assassination and mentioned his cohorts who are still at large that carried out the dasterdly act.
The Commissioner said investigation into the case to arrest the other perpetrators is still on, assured of the unrelenting efforts of the Police to make the state safe in the hands kidnappers.
Speaking with newsmen, Vincent Omogor said an apprentice serving with Chucks Supermarket contracted them to kill Nicholas Ofodile, for refusing to give him money to treat his father who was sick.
He said his father later died, became angry that if Chucks had given him the money, his father would have lived, consequently, contracted them, give them his travel itinerary, which helped in the assassination.
