The Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, Abdulkareem Asuku Jamiu has praised the establishment of Agencies to monitor Federal Government intervention programmes such as Conditional Cash Transfer, Home-Grown School Feeding and distribution government’s palliatives to its citizens.
The Chief of Staff affirmed that the laudable initiative would boost efficiency and accountability as well as productivity in the system.
Jamiu therefore, urged Kogites to take advantage of the establishment of the Social Investment Programme of government to actualise proactive monitoring and proper reporting of activities in their various communities.
The Chief of Staff made the call at the weekend when he received delegations from the Code of Conduct Bureau (Presidency) led by Federal Commissioner Elder (Dr) Ubolo Itodo Okpanachi, Member of Bureau Executive Council, Rev. Ken Alkali Madaki and other top officials of CCB on their entourage.
The Chief of Staff said that the monitoring had become necessary to ensure that the money gets to the right targets and justification of the benefit by those who received the pay.
He disclosed that the Kogi state government has since distributed palliatives to deserving citizens to cushion the effect of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chief of Staff further commended the Federal Government in its effort to actualize President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in ten years.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Ubolo Okpanachi had told the Chief of Staff that they were on a working visit to the state for the monitoring exercise of Conditional Cash Transfer, Home-Grown School Feeding and distribution of palliatives programmes in the state
