Hon. Markus Artu, Interim Management Committee Chairman of Mangu LGC has declared a 24- hour curfew in Mangu Local Government Area in Plateau State, with effect from Sunday, June 18 2023
He said the curfew entails that there will be no vehicular movement of any sort.

The curfew is coming on the heels of the killing of over 150 persons following attacks by militias believed to be Fulanis.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang, recently said that at least 150 people have been killed in Mangu LGA of the state in the last three weeks.
Speaking in an interview with Channels Television, Mutfwang said four persons were murdered in the LGA on upper Thursday night.
“Over the past few months, some LGAs in Plateau have witnessed a spate of violent attacks, resulting in fatalities and displacement.
In May, Solomon Maren, a member of the House of Representatives from Plateau, said over 100 people were killed in two days during overnight attacks in his constituency including Mangu.
In his reaction, Chairman Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) Muhammad Nuru Abdullahi also alleged that 100 fulani were killed by Mwaghavul people, saying it is a planned and coordinated genocide attack to annihilated fulani from their lands.
MACBAN further alleged that Berom and Tarok tribal mercenaries who are experts in cattle rustling are being hired and imported into Mangu and it’s surrounding Communities in large numbers to cause mayhem.
