Local hunters in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo state have tracked down kidnappers of Catholic Priest, Rev Father Isaac Agabi who was abducted on Sunday immediately after conducting church service in Ikpesi town in the LGA. The priest is in charge of Holy Name Catholic Church in the town.

He reportedly escaped when his abductors fell asleep at night.

The hunters who were said to have spread themselves into bush last Sunday, when news of Father Agabi’s abduction unfolded, tracked down the kidnappers at Sasaro Ikpeshi Igue in the LGA and engaged them in an exchange of gunfire during which a member of the gang sustained serious injury and was arrested.

Others were said to have fled, leaving the priest to make his way to freedom.
