Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN), Abia State branch, has threatened to prosecute any members engaged in either adulterating or marketing adulterated products.
The branch Chairman, Prince Bobby Dick, stated in an interview with our correspondent at the end of a seminar/workshop organised by the association for the members in Aba.
He advised consumers to purchase petroleum products from established filling stations “and if possible obtain receipts for them, to avoid the consequences of such products.”
“When, while looking for cheap products consumers buy them from either blackmarketers or roadside filling stations, if there are any issues the operator will close down and run away,” he argued.
He described his father, his HRM Eze (Dr)Eberechi Dike’s recent hosting of the Ooni of Ife, Oba to anew yam festival at his palace in as a fulfiled and honoured opportunity.
Similarly, the Manager, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Osioma Depot, Chief Alex Egwudale, has assured of steady supply of the products during the Ember period.
“During one of our recent management meetings, we took it upon ourselves to ensure the availability of our products especially Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at all times,” he added.
Egwudale, who is the Enyi di oha nma of Mgboko Ngwa Amaise Ancient Kingdom in the state reassured the host-community of the depot of its continued cooperation with them.
It would be recalled that Eze Dick had hosted the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi community’s new yam festival at his palace in Mbgoko Ngwa Ancient Palace, Obingwa.
Speaking at the occasion, the Ojaja II, encouraged youths to imbibe positive energy, urging the Federal Government to listen to the youths grievances.
The monarch, who is both the chairman of the state Council of Traditional Rulers and South EastTraditional Rulers Council, had sued for peace and unity across the country.
