Chief John Kalu, Commissioner for Information, Abia State
The Abia state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief John Okiyi Kalu has said the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu administration will create more jobs within its current second term in office.
Kalu stated this at Government House Umuahia, the capital, saying the administration has since been creating favourable business conditions for the emergence of the jobs.
He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration remains on course in completing some ongoning projects and programmes in the state within its first 100 days in office.
According to him, it has bagan palliative works around Ariaria Junction, Owerri Road, Aba, and Umuahia-Ubakala Road, and Isi Gate area in Umuahia, saying the asphalting will follow soon.
He expressed concern over growing tension around Owerrinta in Isiala Ngwa North Council Area among the security agents, stakeholders, youth groups, and cattle traders.
The commissioner said the governor has directed the transition committee councils of the area and that of Isiala Ngwa South to resolve the matter and report back to him within one week.
