Ikpeazu Reads Riot Act To 2 New Commissioners, 1 TC Chairman

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has challenged two newly sworn-in commissioners in the state to deal decisively with challenges confronting the state which are under their respective ministries.

Ikpeazu stated this while swearing in the commissioners and the new Transition Committee chairman of Umunneochi local government council at Government House, Umuahia the state capital.

He said the challenges include illegal motor parks in the cities, tricycle operators mode of operation, abandoning of broken-down vehicles on the urban roads, and perennial flooding across the state.

Others, according to him are evolvement of a new transport policy and realization of all NEWMAP projects which the government has paid its counterpart funding World Bank and fulfilled their conditions.

He charged the chairman,Dr Eze Chikamnayo to look inwards and identify with those things capable of growing the economy of the area to ensure maximum security by working closely with stakeholders and youths.

Responding on behalf his counterpart for Ministry of Environment, Mr Anthony Nwamu, the chairman and himself, the commissioner for Transport, Chief Godswil Nwanoruo assured that they will justify the confidence reposed in them.
