Ifeanyi Ubah FC Players, Officials Get 19-Match Ban

 

The Nigerian Premiership League has handed Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club a 12-match and a 19-match ban respectively to nine of its players and two officials for assaulting referee Nakura Auwal during a game in August.

The attack on the referee came after winger King Osanga was sent off and in the following confusion, two officials of the club, Chidi Nwogu and Adrike Obiefuna joined the players to assault the referees.

The NPL fined the club N1. 4m for the incident, while it was also ordered to pay any certified medical bills of the assaulted officials in addition to cash, amounting to N200 each.
