His Royal Majesty Eze-Igwe William Ezugwu, the Eze Ogbozarra III of Opi Ancient Kingdom, Eze-Igwe 1 of Ibagwa Opi, and the Eze Ka Eze I of Ideke land, has extended warm felicitations to General Dr. Joseph Jude Okolagu (Rtd), and paid glowing tribute to the General’s enduring legacy of service, sacrifice, and compassion on the joyous occasion of his birthday
In a statement personally signed by the royal father and made available to the THISAGE, HRM Eze-Igwe Ezugwu described General Okolagu as “a rare breed of leader whose commitment to nation-building, community development, and humanitarian service has continued to inspire generations.”
Describing the general as a distinguished elder statesman, philanthropist, and patriot, Eze-Ige Ezugwu, said, “General Dr. Joseph Jude Okolagu (Rtd) represents the best of Nigeria’s military tradition and post-service patriotism,” adding that, “His distinguished military career was marked by discipline, courage, and loyalty to the Nigerian state, but even more remarkable is the path he chose after active service — dedicating his life to the welfare of others through humanitarian initiatives, mentorship, and strategic nation-building engagements.”
According to HRM Eze-Igwe Ezugwu, “at a time when our nation is in dire need of models of integrity, sacrifice, and unity, General Okolagu stands tall as a shining example of what it truly means to lead and serve selflessly.”
The traditional ruler also emphasized the General’s “quiet but impactful interventions in community empowerment, youth development, and educational support,” describing them as “acts of philanthropy that have uplifted countless lives across Nigeria.”
