Imo FA Chairman, Barrister Ifeanyi Dike has confirmed the demise of Coach Christian Obi who was involved in a fatal accident yesterday. He was coach of, Owerri, Imo State based Heartland Football Club.
An official statement by Heartland FC, said the fatal accident that claimed its coach was involved in an accident on the way to Abakaliki for the Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre- Season Tournament.
The accident happened at Umunna close to Okigwe still within Imo State.
“The vehicle in its attempt to avoid a coming vehicle collided with another, carelessly parked vehicle from another accident.
“Though no death was recorded immediately and some players and officials who sustained injuries were taken to the hospital.”
