Troubled Bokkos and Barkin- Ladies Local Governments in Plateau State returned to it’s dark past as over 50 persons have been reported killed by suspected bandits in fresh attacks.
Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Area, Monday Kasa, said the attacks occurred on Saturday and lasted into Christmas Eve.
According to him, several houses were set ablaze by the attackers who also looted farm produce and destroyed properties in the process.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang has condemned the attack, according to the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere.
He said the governor directed security agencies to promptly apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the heinous acts and ensure they face the full force of the law.
Mutfwang also urged members of communities across the state to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security operatives for immediate action.
