Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor announced his resignation on Wednesday during the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Yenagoa.
Also resigning from the party were 19 members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, including the Speaker, Abraham Ingobere.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Daniel Alabrah, confirmed the development in a post on his verified social media handle.
Members of the State Executive Council have also reportedly withdrawn their membership from the PDP.
