Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, on Monday, met with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in a development that has heightened political discussions ahead of his expected defection from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sources at the villa confirmed that the closed-door meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Federal Government and Kano State, as well as broader national development issues.
Although details of the talks were not officially disclosed, the engagement is widely seen as a significant political move, coming amid reports that the governor is preparing to formally join the APC in the coming days.
Governor Yusuf’s anticipated defection is expected to reshape the political landscape in Kano and strengthen the ruling party’s presence in the North-West region.
