Alhaji Saidu Maikano Adamu, the National Youth President of Jon Jam, a group under the aegis of Fulani Association of West Africa, has called on the members across Nigeria to withdraw their participation in the “#Endsars”, protest nationwide.
Speaking to our medium in an exclusive interview on the peaceful protest that was later hijacked by criminal gangs, leading to the loss of lives and properties across many states of the country as a result of the reaction to the killing of protesters at Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos on Tuesday, Alh Adamu warned their youth to dissociate themselves from participating in protest of whatever form.
According to him, “they are peaceful people and should be known for what is promoting peaceful coexistence in the nation not something that can tear the unity of our country a part.” He appealed to all “Nigerians nationalities to respect each other for the sake of the unity and progress of our country.”
The leader lamented that the protest which turn bloody might be a plot to plunge this country into fresh conflict but “we solicit for cooperation of the youths to distance themselves from the unfolding drama.”
He emphasized the need for citizens to consider that the COVID-19 pandemic is still stalking the country and indeed the world, “so we should not add another problem to our home front” .
Adamu urged #End SARS protesters to put a leadership forward so their plans can be properly articulated and addressed.
