The Federal Road Safety Corps, Kogi State Command, has decorated four of its newly promoted officers in the state with their ranks and status.
Speaking at the ceremony at the FRSC command’s headquarters, RS8.3,along Lokoja-Okene road, Lokoja, Mr Emmanuel Abe, the Sector Commander, congratulated the promoted officers and urged them to be more committed to duties.
According to him, out of the 325 officers that wrote the promotion exam, only 64 officers were promoted nationwide; out of which four from Kogi.
Abe noted that three of decorated officers out of the four in Kogi were promoted from the rank of the Assistant Corps Commandant (ACC) to Deputy Corps Commandant (DCC), while the remaining one was a conversion from Marshal to Officer cadre.
The sector commander urged the newly promoted officers not to see the promotion as a result of their intelligence or whom they know, but to see it as God’s grace and appointed time.
He stressed the need for the celebrants to be grateful to God, saying so many people participated in the exercise but a few were successful.
He said that the FRSC was expecting more commitment from them, and urging them to look back into their past years, access themselves and improve on their performance.
”Wherever you go, do your best; use your gifts and talents for the benefit of mankind. Don’t intimidate others, don’t cheat or collect what does not belong to you.
”We rejoice with you and we believe more promotion are still coming,” Abe advised.
In his vote of thanks, one of the newly promoted officers, Mr Sunday Ogungbemi, who spoke on behalf of others, thank God for giving them the privilege to be promoted and decorated, saying it was by God’s grace.
Ogungbemi thanked the sector commander for his support, and promised that they would continue give their best and show more dedication to duties.
Our Correspondent reports that the newly promoted officers from ACC to DCC are: Mr Adelaja Sunday Ogungbemi, Mr Salman Adeniyi, and Dr Samuel Ibitoye, while Oladele Meshach, convert from Marshal to Officer Cadre (SRMA to ARC).
Representatives of the Department of Security Service (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Immigration Service, among others, witnessed the decoration ceremony.
