The Niger State Judicial Service Commission (NJSC) has dismissed four officers after they repeatedly failed to pass mandatory promotion examinations.
In a statement, the Chairman of the Commission’s Sub-Committee on Information, Adamu Usman, said the affected officers include three from the High Court and one from the Sharia Court of Appeal.
According to him, the officers failed the promotion examinations on three consecutive occasions while remaining on the same rank.
He explained that the commission, relying on Order 8, Rule (4)(f) of its 2025 Regulation, resolved and advised them to leave the service.
In a related development, the NJSC has set up a four-man committee to investigate allegations of serious misconduct against one Mohammed Shaba, accused of circulating a disparaging video clip on social media targeting the Chief Judge of Niger State and the judiciary.
Usman said the matter was reported by the Chief Registrar of the Sharia Court of Appeal.
He added that while the commission deliberated on the report, it decided to constitute a sub-committee to conduct further investigations and ensure the accused staff is given a fair hearing.
