From Victor Osula, Abuja

The Federal Government has ordered the immediate suspension of Dana Airline pending a comprehensive audit on its fleet.
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), issued the directive in a memo addressed to the Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
The suspension followed Tuesday’s incident involving Dana aircraft with registration number 5N BKI, flying from Abuja to Lagos, which overshot the runway while attempting to land at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos.
The audit would encompass all aspects of safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and financial health to ensure full compliance with aviation regulations.
The Minister said the recent incidents have underscored the urgency of this matter, and it is imperative that swift and decisive action be taken to safeguard the interests of all stakeholders involved.
He charged the committee to use their expertise and diligence in carrying out the audit thoroughly and expeditiously.
