The Federal Government has officially launched the registration portal for the 2025 National Youth Conference, with the aim of fostering inclusive national dialogue and youth-driven policy recommendations.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, announced that registration for the conference will close on June 30.
He urged interested participants to register via the official website and take part in the virtual dialogue phase ahead of the deadline.
The conference, themed “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future”, is expected to draw 36,000 delegates, both locally and from the diaspora. It is designed to provide a platform for young Nigerians to engage in meaningful discourse on national development.
“This is more than a conference. It is a national movement, a generational turning point. It’s a platform for us to listen, learn, and lead together,” Olawande said.
He noted that the initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to youth inclusion, following the inauguration of the national planning committee on March 10.
“This will not be another talk shop. The 2025 Youth Confab is designed to generate real solutions through inclusive, youth-led dialogue,” the minister assured.
Participants will undergo a hybrid engagement process, beginning with virtual consultations and policy submissions via the portal. A selection process will then determine those invited to attend the in-person sessions of the conference.
Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Olubunmi Olusanya, highlighted the importance of the event in shaping national policy, particularly in areas such as employment, political participation, education, and healthcare.
Olusanya said, “This is a structured avenue for young people to directly influence governance.
“The launch of the registration portal marks the beginning of a historic journey.”
He described the youth conference as a beacon of hope and an opportunity for young Nigerians to shift from protest to policy and from challenges to opportunities.
