Fayose Gets N50m Bail

Mr Ayodele Fayose, the immediate past governor of Ekiti State who is facing N2.2bn fraud charges by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been granted  N50m bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, who had remanded Fayose in EFCC custody till Wednesday for hearing of his bail application, granted him bail with two sureties in like sum.

The EFCC had arraigned the former Ekiti governor and his company, Spotless Limited at the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court over an 11-count charge of conspiracy and money laundering.

The agency accused him of received ₦1.2 billion to fund his 2014 governorship campaign in Ekiti State. He pleaded no guilty to all the charges.
